March 13, 2020 marked an unprecedented date in history — schools, offices, restaurants and shopping malls all bolted their doors and entered an existence peppered with breakout rooms instead of classrooms and face masks that concealed consternation in lieu of friendly smiles exchanged at grocery stores. A year later, individuals around the world are getting vaccinated each day, business have opened, in0person school is in session and much of the world has appeared to return to a strange echo of life before the pandemic. But while calendars that chronicled the past year disappeared on office walls, the pandemic has left an imprint in people, irrespective of age, around the world. Be it a newfound appreciation for exchanging hugs with parents, indefinitely postponed wedding plans or simply finally growing into their headphones, individuals from a variety of age groups have found both heartache and peace in a world coping with COVID-19.
