Students and teachers share their literature class favorites

From timeless classics to contemporary reads, the MVHS curriculum provides something for everyone

With the diversity of the MVHS literature curriculum, students are exposed to novels ranging from historical memoirs to lyric poems to timeless classics. Freshman students experience a survey course of a variety of authors and genres, while the focus sophomore year is specific to world literature and reading different perspectives from around the globe. Junior year, students analyze critical American texts from the past to the present, while seniors get a chance to choose what type of literature they’d like to learn about, including: Advanced Placement Literature, British Literature, Contemporary Literature and Mythology and Folklore.  Click below to explore favorite books from English classes.
