Before evening trainings begin, Mock Trial officers hosted their second member meeting in D202 where students shared out their points that could potentially assist the prosecutor and defender in their favor during the official court hearing. Throughout the meeting, members learned to recognize different types of evidence and how they may assist or work against the prosecutor or defender.

The officers promoted member participation in preparation for the competition that will take place in second semester. However, since it is still early in the season, PR officer and junior Maya Tate explains they are that still undergoing the process of promotion and spreading awareness about the club.

“We just want to educate people about the the law and the legal system because it’s important to know,” Tate said. “We want people to learn public speaking development, develop critical thinking and learn how to think on their feet.”
