Leadership held its annual Winter Rally in the gym on Friday, Feb. 6. Each grades dressed up in different colors corresponding to various Bay Area sports teams — freshmen dressed in orange for the San Francisco Giants, sophomores in white for the San Jose Sharks, juniors in red for the San Francisco 49ers and seniors in blue for the Golden State Warriors.
The rally featured performances by the MV Dance and Cheer teams, Korean Culture and Dance Club and choir. In between performances, the grades competed in various rally games, including hockey and inflatable ball knockout. In the end, the sophomore Class of 2028 was victorious.
Sophomore class officer Moa Hashioka notes that leadership put a lot of effort into the preparation for the rally. She personally worked late into the night and early in the morning to ensure the completion of the rally posters and decorations. Overall, she thinks the rally went smoothly and was pleased with the sophomores’ victory.
“It went really well,” Hashioka said. “This is the first time we’ve ever won first place. I was really surprised, because normally the seniors always win.”
Senior Alex Sharma agrees that leadership executed the rally well. Despite being disappointed at the seniors’ loss, they still had fun with their friends by enjoying the rally games and taking pictures together.
“My favorite moment was the hockey game because I was screaming my head off for my friends,” Sharma said. “I hope the next rally is way more hype.”
