Homemade Hipster: Banana Smoothie Bowl

Preparing a fun, healthy banana-based dessert

Learn how to make a fun, healthy, banana-based dessert, combining ice and cocoa powder for a cold, refreshing taste!​​

Ingredients:

  • Two bananas, sliced into thin circles
  • One-fourth cup milk of choice
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • One tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • One tablespoon of almond butter
  • One-fourth cup ice

Toppings (optional):

  • Half a banana, sliced into thin circles
  • Crushed almonds, two tablespoons

Directions:

  1. Slice bananas into thin circles. Put into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least two hours.
  2. Add to a food processor or blender.
  3. Add milk, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and almond butter to the food processor or blender.
  4. Pulse for 30 seconds.
  5. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes
  6. Add ice and blend for another minute
  7. Serve with sliced bananas and almonds on top. Add whatever toppings you want! Serve cold or freeze and store in the fridge for later.
