Uncovering the different facets of imposter syndrome at MVHS

You’re a fraud. You’re a fake, an imposter, undeserving of the accomplishments you have.

We all have this voice in our head. The one that convinces us that our accomplishments never measure up to what we actually deserve. Especially at MVHS, this phenomenon of people feeling inadequate amidst their accomplishments runs rampant, with 66% of 366 students having felt the consequences of imposter syndrome at one point or another.

Lakshanyaa Ganesh is currently a senior, and an Opinion Editor for El Estoque's multimedia platform. Outside of journalism, she is a part of MVHS's Speech & Debate team, where she can be found frequently talking at walls. She loves music, pasta, and Harry Potter, and is always willing to talk about dogs or astrology any time of day.

Oishee Misra, Editor-in-chief

Oishee is currently a senior and the co-editor-in-chief for El Estoque. She's an artist, and the walls of her room are plastered with artwork. She loves listening to music and obsessively creates Spotify playlists and plays the piano. She's also a total foodie (although her cooking attempts are usually disastrous). She loves reading the Opinion section of New York Times, and hopes to live in New York City and be an NYT columnist someday.

Emily Xia, Managing Editor

Emily Xia is currently a managing editor in both journalism classes. She spends her time on El Estoque writing stories, designing pages and creating graphics. Outside of school, she enjoys drinking boba and practicing color guard.

Neysa Singh, Staff Writer

Neysa is currently a senior at Monta Vista and a staff writer for El Estoque. She is on the MVHS dance team, and in her free time enjoys walking her dog, hanging out with her friends, and listening to music.
