The IDC Fantastics rally was held at Fremont High School on Feb. 2, 2024. Students from all five schools in the district attended the rally to participate in games and watch performances from dance clubs and bands. Junior and Class Officer Peter Chen says that MVHS showed up with a unified spirit.
“Usually the freshmen are a little weaker because they’re newer to stuff, and then the seniors are better and louder,” Chen said. “They always win the rallies. But when you have them all together, people are more unified — we’re louder and more spirited.”
Even though Homestead High School ended up winning the rally, Chen says that the energy from the MVHS’ crowd and performances from MV Bhangra and MV Andaaz were really good despite the distance they had to travel to attend the rally.
“It’s pretty hard to come here.” Chen said. “It’s really hard for me. It’s really hard for a lot of people to come here because it’s not convenient. But I was still surprised so many people still showed up. I mean, last year, not a lot of people showed up, so we definitely improved on this.”
