Exploring how love languages play a role in the MVHS community

From carrying friends with piggy-back rides to picking up $4 frappuccinos from Starbucks to handing out bubble wands before a stressful test, members of the MVHS community express their love and affection in a multitude of ways. These expressions of love, which may fall under five different categories of “love languages” — gift giving, physical touch, quality time, words of affirmation and acts of service — play a crucial role in the communication and relationship building in their lives. Meggie is currently a senior and a managing editor for El Estoque. During her free time she loves to read, listen to horror podcasts (because she’s too chicken to watch actual horror movies), and spend (frankly) too much time watching historical documentaries on Youtube.

Sophia Chen, Copy Editor

Sophia Chen is currently a senior and a copy editor on El Estoque. She enjoys running and playing basketball. In her free time, she watches YouTube. She recently started to listen to podcasts, including The Bright Sessions, Paradoxica, TANIS and The Magnus Archives.

Mikaylah Du, Design Editor

Mikaylah is currently a senior and a design editor for El Estoque. She is also an MV Debate officer and enjoys oil painting and reading in her free time.

Riya Ravuri, Features editor

Riya is currently a senior and a features editor for El Estoque. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, traveling, walking her dog and drinking Shirley Temples.

Prisha Tiwari, Features Editor

Prisha Tiwari is currently a senior and a features editor for El Estoque. In her free time, she enjoys watching TV shows, going biking with her family, and traveling to new places.

Matthew Yoshimoto, Managing Editor

Matthew is currently a senior and managing editor for El Estoque. In his free time, he enjoys going on hikes at Rancho San Antonio, spending time with his family and friends, watching The Office and listening to music.
