With the COVID-19 pandemic causing an abrupt end to the school year and imposing shelter-in-place requirements, graduating seniors found themselves confined to their homes while the most anticipated events of their last year of high school were canceled. Despite this abrupt turn of events, however, seniors continue to move forward — they modify plans for their future and look forward to a world after quarantine. From memories of their last day in high school to the redefined second semester senior, this package explores what it means to be a member of the Class of 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic. Ayah Ali-Ahmad, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Ayah Ali-Ahmad is the co-Editor-in-Chief of El Estoque. Outside of El Estoque, she is the President for Gender-Sexuality Alliance club and the Senior Director of Communications for MVHS's largest volunteering club, Octagon. In her free time away from her school life, she enjoys listening to music and getting boba with friends.

Michelle Chen, Co-editor-in-chief

Michelle is currently a senior and co-editor-in-chief for El Estoque. Outside of journalism, her interests include percussion and volleyball. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her family and their two dogs.

Charlotte Chui, Arts & Entertainment Editor

Charlotte Chui is a senior, as well as a print arts & entertainment editor for El Estoque. She previously served as a multimedia copy editor, and this is her third year on staff.

Anushka De, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Anushka De is a senior and a co-editor-in-chief of El Estoque. She loves listening to music, drinking too much coffee and spending time with her friends. She was previously a Features and News Editor and has since learned to parallel park, which she considers to be one of her greatest achievements of all time.

Shuvi Jha, Managing Editor

Shuvi Jha is the Managing Editor of El Estoque. She enjoys watching foreign TV, re-reading Harry Potter and conversing about social justice/feminism.

Iman Malik, Features and Graphics Editor

Swara Tewari, Managing Editor

Swara Tewari is a managing editor for El Estoque and a senior at MVHS. This is her third year on staff. She really enjoys reporting on issues plaguing the MVHS community and telling the overlooked stories on campus. Besides writing for El Estoque, she likes to read and spend time with friends and family.

Sarah Young, Graphics Editor

Senior Sarah Young is currently a Graphics editor for El Estoque. In her free time, Sarah likes to draw, read and take walks in the park. She is currently really into pointillism and marshlands.
