Although the Homecoming football was canceled due to the poor air conditions, MVHS still demonstrated their spirit and enthusiasm by participating in the rally. Students showed their upbeat performances that had the crowd jumping up and down in the stands. Scroll through the gifs and photos below to experience the Homecoming rally.

MVHS Marquesas

The MVHS Marquesas captivated the eyes of the crowd through a hip hop dance to “Still feelin’ it” by Mistah F.A.B. Their groovy dance moves were a great way to pump up the crowd for the rally.

Rally games

Classes competed in small groups in a series of games, such as aiming a ping pong ball into a red solo cup and knocking down a water bottle with a ball inside a stocking attached to their heads.

The MVHS Song team performed an upbeat dance in a flurry of gold, glittering pom-poms and skillful acrobatics.

“How do you feel” cheer

Each of the classes had their chance to win more points for Homecoming through the traditional “How do you feel” cheer.

Senior boy’s dance

The senior boys once again performed their dance from their Harry Potter themed skit, each wearing a color representative of a Hogwarts house

Color guard

Color guard showed a dance heavy performance to the song “Toxic” by Britney Spears, but not without busting out their colorful flags and rifles.

Senior Spoof

Seniors from the MVHS football team paired up with members of the MVHS Marquesas and MVHS Spirit team in their last Homecoming rally.

Homecoming court

In order to make up for the cancellation of the Homecoming football game, students of the Homecoming court walked with teachers across the gym. The final members of Homecoming Royalty will be announced at the Homecoming dance this Saturday, Oct. 14.

After adding up the total points that each class won through the rally in addition to the food drive, skits and dress up days, ASB announced that the seniors had won the rally. The freshmen came in fourth, the sophomores came in third and the juniors came in second.
