At 18, Philz barista Sal Pizzo thought he would rule the world at 21, but his life took a very different turn. Pizzo can’t say that he hates his job as a barista, though he would love a better one. He has to clean up at the end of the day, and often wishes his customers would see him as a person rather than a coffee-making machine. But from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Pizzo comes to work to make coffee and conversation for his customers, while spending time with some of his closest friends.
