Both CCS basketball games will begin Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
We have a double dosage of Game of the Week for Feb. 25. With both basketball teams qualifying for CCS, MVHS will have two concurrent playoff games on Tuesday evening.
One will be the boys basketball game against Sequoia High School. The Matadors (11-13, 6-6) claimed one of the final CCS spots with a .500 league record. They will travel to Redwood City to face the Cherokees (11-7, 8-4) for a spot against the sixth-seeded Palo Alto High School (13-10, 8-4) on Thurs. Feb. 27.
While the boys fight for the 11 seed in their tournament, the girls team will be battling Andrew Hill High School for the ninth seed in their CCS bracket. The Matadors (14-8, 9-3) will host the Falcons (11-13, 7-7) with the winner heading to Evergreen High School to play the Cougars (14-13, 7-7) two days later.
It’s prone to be a big two hours for the Matadors, with two teams hoping to advance to the second round, and El Estoque is the only place to find side-by-side coverage for both games. Tune in Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m. to catch all the action live.
