Concert and Symphonic bands will participate in concert on evening of Feb. 9
Symphonic Band’s pieces are primarily from contemporary composers, while Concert Band’s pieces include an arrangement of traditional English folk songs and a Brazilian-themed piece.
“It’s a cross section of all styles of music,” music instructor John Galli said. “There’s no one specific style that they’ll be doing.”
This concert will be slightly different from previous ones in that one piece will be conducted by student teacher Kevin McCullough, who has been at MVHS for one week. McCullough is in charge of conducting a Symphonic Band piece titled “Abracadabra” by Frank Ticheli. McCullough currently attends San Jose State University, where he is a music education major.
