When dining during the holidays, vegans might find it hard to find foods that cater to their specific dietary needs. Vegan apple crisp ingredients:

Filling:

  • 8 medium to large apples
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • ⅔ cup coconut sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup apple juice or water
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

Topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup almond meal
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ½ cup muscovado or brown sugar
  • ½ pecans or almonds (roughly chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
