In his element: 50 questions with Jay Shelton

As part of a new recurring series, El Estoque asks art teacher and yearbook adviser Jay Shelton 50 questions in his classroom

Inspired by Vogue’s video series ‘73 Questions,’ El Estoque follows Art teacher and Yearbook advisor Jay Shelton into his 7th-period classroom to ask him 50 questions. While Shelton scolds one of his students for coming late to class, he talks about his fear of the circulatory system and the newest addition to his family: King (his dog). He also shows us his secret talent and draws a hand in 30 seconds.

Jai Uparkar is a senior and a third-year staff member. She previously served as a print features editor and multimedia news editor, and now serves as a print news editor. She plays tennis and in her free time, she likes to take Buzzfeed quizzes and film videos about local businesses in Cupertino.

Chelsea Wong, Beats editor

Chelsea Wong is a currently a senior and a beats editor for El Estoque. She is a movie buff and would discuss about anything and anybody that is nominated for any year of the Oscars.

Claire Chang, Features Editor

Claire Chang is a senior at Monta Vista and is the print features editor for El Estoque. Before she was a features editor, she was both a multimedia and print news editor. She runs for the school's cross country and track teams and enjoys reading and hanging out with friends and family in her free time.
