Silence spreads throughout the course and the only sounds are the whispers of onlookers and the squeaking of wheels from carts and bags making their way across the manicured grass. Streaks of lavender, cream, white and dark blue can be seen in the distance making their way across the course, pushing their carts filled with clubs, standing out from the trees and shrubs around them.
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the MVHS girls golf team played against Lynbrook HS, who happened to be playing both Saratoga HS and the Matadors simultaneously. Despite losing 188-193, MVHS played a thorough game with calculated shots from each player. MVHS also lost in a close match to LHS earlier this season on Sept.12, by a score of 203-212. The Matadors nearly avenged their previous loss, but were ultimately unable to prevent their second defeat to LHS.
