Run on a national level by The Boomerang Project, a company that focuses on student transition programs, Link Crew aims to welcome and guide high school freshmen through structured peer mentorship. At the end of each school year, sophomores and juniors can apply to become MVHS Link Leaders for the following academic year. If chosen, these student leaders are then assigned to lead groups of freshmen in icebreaker and bonding activities at the start and throughout the school year to help them become more acquainted with MVHS. These activities range anywhere from asking freshmen to write letters to themselves, to playing “64 Squares” and “People, Traps and Tigers.” But how helpful are these activities in welcoming freshmen?
