A man sits at his desk to grade 120 essays. A small group practices their piano-guitar arrangement in their basement. A girl takes a plane to Washington University, possibly never to be seen at her high school again. Countless people pass by each day, completely unnoticed for what they’ve done. MVHS students will write appreciation cards to teachers, listen to musicians during Battle of the Bands, and give seniors their final rally. To recognize seniors, students will be getting . All of these are combined into one week: Celebration Week, from Monday May 16 to Friday May 20.
“The main purpose of celebration week is to honor and celebrate the diversity and the strength of all the students,” junior Alex Maertens said. “[MVHS] is such a high stress environment. It’s important to take a step back and reflect on the things that should be celebrated about all the students and teachers.”
