After school on Dec. 12, the MVHS cheer and song teams flew to Anaheim to compete in the Southern California Holiday Classic championship for the first time.
“Nationals is the first time that we’re exposed to the Southern California teams, and usually [they] are our biggest competition,” junior Jessica Li said. “We’re going to this competition to look at the Southern California teams and see where we stand compared to them.”
SoCals is their third competition this year. Song, with only five members, and cheer, with 15, will perform in the small division.
As the girls get ready to compete, they also study for their final exams. Scroll over the pictures to hear their plan for this weekend and their expectations for the competition.
