Meditation Video from El Estoque on Vimeo.
On Sept. 13, three students experienced meditation for the first time with the help of MVHS’ Student Advocate, Richard Prinz, who has been interested in meditation since studying psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. Prinz believes that meditation is particularly useful in relieving stress. He works to bring meditation to students and teach them to apply meditation techniques to their daily lives. After a brief discussion about the origins, styles and benefits of meditation, the participants settled into a practice in which they focused solely on their breathing. These weekly meditation sessions are intended to let students relax, recharge and find themselves in a new, positive state of mind.
Meditation sessions are held every Thursday during tutorial in Room D204.
