With the sun almost completely concealed behind the clouds, and the wind picking up, the MVHS softball team grasped the fence between them and the field, squinting and chanting the name of teammate junior Aly Olkein.
The score was tied at 2-2, but the Matadors weren’t ready to give up just yet. After two wild pitches from Evergreen HS, Olkein sealed the game with a walk, allowing the go-ahead run to score. The Matadors won the game over EHS 3-2.
