MVHS parents and students gathered on the MVHS upper field at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, as the boys soccer team honored their seniors. Despite their elimination from CCS contention, the Matadors looked to follow up their senior recognition ceremony and honor their veteran seniors with their first league win, amid a season of losses and draws.
Unfortunately, the Matadors came up short against the LHS Vikings, falling 0-2. Despite aggressive efforts from senior captains Sassan Hashemi and Alex Dunn, the Vikings were able to break through MVHS’ defense twice, once in the first period and yet again in the second. Despite the loss, the Matadors look forward to Feb. 14, when they will face off against Palo Alto HS.
