At 7 p.m., the choir room is filled with anxious students who are ready to sing their hearts out to a full audience. Choir teacher Shari Summers says these last words to her nervous choir group. “Sometimes when you’re feeling sort of at your most stressed or down in life, the best thing you can do is to give to others, and do something nice for someone else, and it just makes you feel better. You just kind of lift some of that pressure and it makes you realize, ‘Hey, I can take a moment and make someone else’s day better.’”
With these words, the choir enters the red curtain and fills up the risers, welcoming the audience. The night continues with various curtain acts, surprise guests, a raffle drawing and heartfelt songs. Flip through the photo gallery to relive the moments from the soulful concert.
