After a disappointing 4-7 start to the season, with many loses against superior competition in non-league play, the Matadors have finally started to find their groove. After going on a six game win streak that lasted from March 24 to April 15, the Matadors boasted a 10-7 record with a 4-2 league record. Although they have since dropped two of their past three games since, MVHS sits just half a game out of first place in the El Camino Division.
“Honestly, we feel like we are the best team in the league because a lot of the teams do not have the pitching depth that we have and offensive depth that we also have,” senior Surya Kumaraguru said. “We have the best overall unit in this league.”
