It’s been nearly a month since Apple announced and launched the new iPhone SE, a phone that is unorthodox yet surprisingly effective. The phone reverted to some features of the 5 and 5s in terms of hardware, and kept some of the features found in the new 6s models.Design
For the SE, Apple decided to stick with the classic design of the 5s. The SE stands at four inches, a more ideal size for pockets, so the phone itself is smaller than the current 6s model. The SE also features the return of the the flat metal edges of the 5 model instead of the smooth, curved edges of the 6s. As a result, the grip of the phone has improved, as the SE has been made smaller and easier to hold than the 6s model.
Internals
The internals of the new SE hold the real improvements. Despite its size, the SE has a consistent battery life of 12 hours, very much similar to that of its predecessor, the 6s.
“Hardware and software made for each other.” -Apple
The frontview camera, however, is of a lower quality than its predecessor at 1.2 megapixels compared to the 6s’s 5 megapixels, but the rearview camera’s quality remains the same at 12 megapixels. The amount of RAM (random access memory) and the processor in the SE also remain the same, maintaining the efficiency of the phone.
Price
This is the most important aspect of a phone that everybody looks out for: affordability. The iPhone SE, compared to the iPhone 6 and 6s, is significantly cheaper, making it a promising pick for most people.
