Throughout contemporary film history to the present day, minority actors are often stuck playing stereotypical roles. Sometimes, white actors play minority roles, but less often do minority actors play non-stereotypical roles. With shows like “Master of None” and “Fresh Off the Boat” making it to big audiences, what it means to be a minority in television is a topic of discussion that is brought up a lot. Now that the discussion on the place that minorities hold in film is still fresh following the Oscars, two MVHS seniors, Hari Ganesh and Janani Vijaykumar, reflect on their past four years as Indian actors.
