Anyone with an internet connection and a Facebook account may have noticed the rising tide of ironically-named fake Facebook events intended by its creators to go viral. What originated with simple over-RSVPing to events on Facebook seems to have mutated into a totally different kind of trend. Pages ranging anywhere from “eat and cry next to a llama because finals” to a mock Guy Fieri and Lil B cook-off and concert have garnered thousands of RSVPs and page posts. MVHS students share their perspectives on this rapidly growing phenomenon.
