The Monta Vista Matadors came into their game on Oct. 23 against the Gunn Titans with a deceptive 1-2 league record, having lost two straight close home games. The Matadors ran the Titans out of the building with 42 straight points in the first half and ended up winning 42-21. They were led by a dominant interior blocking that allowed for the running backs to find wide open running lanes. Senior Quarterback Golan Gingold led the way with three touchdowns on just four carries while the senior Radwan Hawmi amassed 130 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries.
The Matadors will travel to Cupertino High School on Nov. 6th to face the Pioneers in hopes of winning the Helmet Game for the twelfth straight year.
