Among more than 2,000 competitors, a small group of MVHS sophomores huddle together at a slim wooden table. Relaxing before the row of laptops, they engage in a friendly debate over problems in their code. One taps the shoulder of another, shaking their heads as they burst out in laughter. The chuckles stop shortly after, as the boys return to their black screens filled with endless lines of white letters and numbers. They have less than 24 hours to go.
