Wildlife Education Day has been going for 24 years and brings local wildlife organizations to an area where the public can learn about some of the animals that live in the area, learn about some of the organizations and have a hands-on experience. The event takes about eight months in planning, eight thousand dollars, and several volunteers.
“It is a labor of love but I love seeing people’s eyes light up when they get to touch a snake for the first time or see the hawk […] and those moments of “WOAH, THIS IS NEAT,” said Toby Goldberg, Education and Outreach Director for Santa Clara Audubon Society. “Just being able to experience that is my favorite part and the reason I love doing it.”
