Senior Nicole Deacon and freshman Bill Deacon, both water polo players, share an especially close bond over their passion for the sport. Water polo has allowed the Deacon siblings to form a close connection and push each other to improve their skills. Both Bill and Nicole hope to bond even more as Nicole wraps up her last water polo season at Monta Vista. Click through the interactive below to see Nicole’s and Bill’s stories.

Bill’s story
Nicole Deacon has been in the water for almost her entire life--for 12 years. Considering that swimming is a sport that runs in the Deacon family, it was natural for Nicole to put on a swimsuit, strap on a pair of goggles, and jump into the pool at the age of 5. She has spent so much time swimming since then, that she feels almost as comfortable in the water as on land.

Bill Deacon has been swimming since he was five years old and has continued to do so ever since. Looking to branch out while still using his swimming skills, Bill started water polo eight months ago, in the middle of his 8th grade year.
