The Matadors started off fast and had the game in hand early on. They scored two runs in the first, three in the third and erased all of the Vikings hope of a comeback with a five-run forth inning. Defensively, sophomore Danielle Koontz and senior Tamanna Ahluwallia held the Viking offense to just two hits with their dominant pitching, as the Vikings could only achieve a 0.118 team batting average.
With the win, the Matadors improve to 12-5 (4-1) and will face Willow Glen HS at home on Apr. 9 at 4:00 p.m.
