On March 27, students from across the district came to MVHS in a student exchange program called Intra-District Council, or IDC. In this exchange, many students were reunited with their old friends and were able to see the differences between MVHS and their own schools. At 7 a.m., MVHS students gathered in the student union to meet their IDC partners and have breakfast. Three student pairs spoke about their IDC experiences.
Lynbrook High School Freshman Amber Hsu and MVHS Freshman William Hsu
El Estoque: Why did you choose to join the IDC exchange program?
Hsu: We chose to join mostly just because we went to the same middle school, but then I went to LHS and he went to MVHS, so we wanted to see each other.
Fremont High School Junior Carolyne Sysmans and MVHS Junior Rachel Poulo
EE: Why did you choose to join the IDC exchange program?
Symans: We play in the same club soccer team, so I decided that I wanted to shadow her for a day and view the competitive atmosphere of MVHS.
Poulo: And I wanted to show her the competitive atmosphere of MVHS.
Homestead High School Junior Rohan Vaidya and MVHS Junior Natasha Shetty
Vaidya: Get a picture of us eating.
EE: Why did you choose to join the IDC exchange program?
Vaidya: I want to be an IDC representative, so I thought that I should first experience what the IDC student exchange program is like firsthand. I’m really excited for the classes, powderpuff, and I love the competitive environment at MVHS.
