Jaws dropped open as assistant principal Mike White announced that the two schools still competing as human tables would have to lift one foot each off of the ground. Fifteen minutes in, the two remaining teams were going strong, with one foot in the air and a glass of water in their hands. Although MVHS was favored to win IDC Fantastics, the FUHSD intradistrict rally on Nov. 21, after winning the past two years and battling it out in a 45 minute human table last year, the Matadors were not one of these teams. Despite strong performances from each Matador athlete, Lynbrook High School came in first place in nearly every event, securing an overall first place position and the title of Fantastics champion. Homestead High School, the team placing first in the human table, came in third place overall, edging out Cupertino High School and falling one point behind second place MVHS. Fremont High School was also supposed to attend the rally, but as ASB IDC representative senior Christian Choy explained, they had a CCS football game to attend, and the whole gym cheered and clapped for them.
