Boys volleyball played against Mountain View High on Mar 26. This was Monta Vista’s second time playing against Mountain View, both matches ending in losses. MVHS played a strong with many attempts to regain the match, but Mountain View pulled ahead, winning the game 0-3. The following gifs recap the game and key moments that the players will remember in the season to come.

1. Senior Ryan Manley returns a strong serve from Mountain View. The spike boosted morale and pushed the players to play even harder as the match went on.

2. A large portion of the game was long defensive rallies. Both teams played defensively, forcing these rallies.

3. The last attempt by Monta Vista was hit out of bounds. The game ended 0-3.

Post-game interviews from players clearly showed that the team reached a consensus that more intensity was needed. MVHS came out strong but weakened over the course of the match. The team has room for improvement, especially with serving. Although the turnout was not in favor of MVHS, many players learned important lessons from the game.
