When San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo struck out the final batter, the Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera, at 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 28, the city of San Francisco erupted into celebration. After the Giants’ four-game sweep of the World Series, people all over the Bay Area rallied to honor the team’s second title as world champions in three years.
