The city of Cupertino held its 29th annual Cherry Blossom Festival at Memorial Park on April 28 and 29. The festival is held in honor of Cupertino’s sister city of Toyokawa, Japan and includes many booths and shows that celebrate Japanese culture. Shows featuring Emeryville Taiko Drumming and other cultural displays were presented in the outdoor auditorium. Clubs from different high schools like Monta Vista Interact and Monta Vista Red Cross also had booths intended to fundraise for different causes. A special kids section included a petting zoo, a train ride, and an array of jumping houses. Families, friends, and even their dogs all gathered at Memorial Park for a day of fun, sun, and celebration.
