Ohana held its first meeting of the year on Sept. 28 with a potluck.
The club, in which the name means family in the Hawaiian language, brings together people of different backgrounds to cultivate friendships and social skills. Special needs students make up about half of the club’s membership, and have buddies who will stay close to them for the rest of the club year.
