Time to meet your Final Destination, 5 that is.
On Aug. 12 be ready to brace yourself in “Final Destination 5.” Even though this movie series ended with “The Final Destination,” the fans craved more intensity. “Final Destination” will allow you to sit in a safe environment but experience fear to a whole new level.
The movie revolves around one main event—a suspension bridge collapse. However, if you’ve seen previous Final Destination movies, the main character always predicts what major catastrophe is going to happen—before it happens. Final Destination 5 is not one to stray from this structure. Nicholas D’Agosto plays Sam Lawton and Molly Harper (Emma Bell) plays the girlfriend. The storyline is similar in comparison to previous movies in the same series. Lawton saves himself, his girlfriend and a few other members of society. Yadda-yadda-yadda. Death then kills each of them in the order that they were supposed to die in—the only two interesting people that have the ability to know when death might be knocking at their doors would be, of course, Lawson and Harper
Let’s hope that Final Destination 5 is not as predictable as all the other movies in the Final Destination series. Maybe since the director is new we will experience new heights of fear. Steven Quale is the new kid in town. Quale is replacing David R. Ellis, the previous director of the Final Destination movies.
By trying to set a new view towards the movie, Final Destination 5 will be featured in 3D. The 3D obsession strikes again and brings Final Destination 5 under it’s cloak of super-coolness. Who knows? Maybe a knife jolting out of the screen coming straight at you—is in fact fun!
