Players on the San Jose Sharks fundraise for youth in the community on March 7
On March 7, the San Jose Sharks visited Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria in Cupertino to fundraise for The Sharks Foundation, which awards grants to local community organizations. Coming off an 8-1 record in their past nine games, several Shark players and broadcasters visited Amici’s during 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. for pizza, pasta and a chance to interact with their fans as well as sign autographs for the general public.
Amici’s donated all sales from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to The Sharks Foundation. In the past, the foundation has funded community programs which strive to help communities meet their educational, social and cultural needs—focusing on building character for the youth of Santa Clara County.
Among the Sharks, franchise favorites Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau and Dan Boyle made appearances alongside newer Shark players such as Niclas Wallin, Ian White and Kyle Wellwood.
Players and fans exchanged stories, took pictures and ate plenty of pizza — providing a fun and beneficial night for the community.
