Palin’s new show is surprisingly entertaining despite criticism about the ex-Alaskan Governor
Welcome to Alaska. In a 8-part television show, you’ll explore the excitements and wonders of Alaska with your host, Sarah Palin. That’s right, Sarah Palin—the former governor ex-Governor for Alaska who nearly became our vice-president. Here are the reasons why the show isn’t as bad as you may think:
5. The scenery still looks good on television. The Alaskan mountains adjacent to the sparkling waters, and the crisp white snow remind viewers that there is a place more exciting than Lake Tahoe during the winter. If you can get over Palin’s “OMGawd’s,” it’ll almost be like watching the Travel Channel.
4. Whatever the point of the show is, it is entertaining. Viewers get to see the true personality of Palin through the journey she takes: her struggle of climbing a mountain or her fear from falling through the crevice on the mountain . Although the Alaskan accent can get annoying at times, the flight through Alaska and family drama with a different host just wouldn’t be the same.
3. Getting an inside look at Palin’s life. In a way, the viewers pity Palin when she has to deal with neighbors that try to see what her family is up and the criticism from the public. Viewers later realize that she is only a person trying to live her life.
2. Documentaries can have its share of drama. The producers make Palin’s life more climactic than its suppose to be like having the feeling that she will be attacked by a bear, or protecting her daughter, Willow, from her boyfriend with a “No Boys” gate—although its a little bit too late for that
1. The Palin humor. We all know about it, but Palin actually embraces it—“On a really clear day, you can see Russia from here… Almost.” Oh, Palin.
Sarah Palin’s Alaska shows at 9 p.m. on Sunday nights on TLC.
