In a close sudden death game, Serra High won 8-7
The boys varsity water polo team’s first appearance in CCS since 2001 came to an end on Nov. 13. Despite a triumphant 14-9 first round win over the San Benito High School Haybalers on Nov. 9, the team lost in the second round of CCS on Nov. 13 to the Serra High Padres, 7-8. The
closely contested game led to a sudden death in which the Padres overtook the Matadors. With an 18-8 record this season, the Matadors placed at the top of the De Anza league.
