On Nov. 1, Design Studio members worked on advertisements for the club
Give the artists of junior Julie Qi’s new club markers and poster paper, and you’ll find yourself looking at all sorts of designs.
But Design Studio isn’t just another art club. Qi has a different vision.
“I like to figure out what looks best [when drawing on the computer], and I wanted to show other people and share my talent with them,” Qi said.
While Design Studio is meant to be a learning experience for its members, its second goal is to earn money through commissions and donate back to the school. The club has a number of talented members in it already, and Qi wants the club to collaborate to create small items like buttons and bookmarks to sell. Their first task, however, was making advertisements at the Nov. 1 meeting.
From there, Design Studio will put the markers and paper to use in grander projects.
