On Sept. 10 and 17, workshops for the MV Bhangra Team were held in the Rally Court after school. More than forty dancers came to learn the traditional Indian dance. Captains and seniors Netania Naik and Deepthi Mahesh taught the girls routine and senior Pavan Kanekal and junior Ashish Chatterjee taught the boys. Tryouts were held on Sept. 24 in order to pick out the best of the best that show skill in the dance, commitment to the team, and can live up to the MVHS Bhangra Team reputation.
Now as they have formed their new team, the dancers are hard at work perfecting their routine for upcoming performances. They plan on dancing in the annual Diversity Day assembly, MVHS’ Spotlite on India and hopefully competing in Bhangra competitions.
