Calvin Wong temporarily replaces Debbie Mandac as AP Secretary
People visiting the ASB office during these last few months of the year will be surprised to find a familiar face in an unfamiliar place. Debbie Mandac, the AP secretary, recently delivered her baby, and is now on maternity leave and due to return Aug. 1, in time for the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
Calvin Wong, who has prior experience with the roles of secretary for the assistant principal, will transfer from his current position in the front desk to temporarily fill in for Mandac.
In previous years there was no specific secretary for the assistant principal in charge of activities. Previously, Wong worked as the school’s Financial Tech, the position now occupied by Judy Ma. Prior to the AP secretary position, the Financial Tech aided the assistant principal in addition to financial duties. Upon the addition of Mandac and the AP secretary position, the support duty was ceded to her. Furthermore, the job has evolved with the creation of the dean of student positions.
According to Wong, the transition from front desk to AP Secretary position has been smooth. Wong is adjusting to the more unpredictable workload of the AP Secretary position compared to the more routine-oriented front desk duties.
