Gate-crashers to Obama’s state dinner mark another publicity stunt
Another publicity stunt! This time, two people went over reporters and through the Secret Service to shake Obama’s hand. The Salahis, who auditioned for "The Real Housewives of Washington", gate-crashed Obama’s first state dinner held in honor of the visiting prime minister of India. Then they posted photos on Facebook and are now demanding money for their interviews.
Now, doesn’t that sound familiar? Sounds like something the Octomom and the Balloon Boy are —or were doing — when they pulled their own stunts.
It makes us wonder how the Salahis even got through all the screening procedures to get into the White House in the first place. If we, as civilians, have to take off our shoes and jackets and show our passports and tickets just to go board an airplane, shouldn’t these gate-crashers to the president’s state dinner have been caught ticket-less somehow?
The Secret Service apologized for the breach in security, stating that they had not gone through the necessary procedures to make sure that the Salahis were not on the guest list. Thing is, the Secret Service is trained to protect the president from assassins, not from fame-hungry individuals. The Salahis should be the one apologizing because now some of those Secret Service will be fired thanks to them.
It seems as if these people who want to be famous always have some illogical reasoning motivating them. The man who almost killed Ronald Reagan? He wanted to become famous enough to impress actress Jodi Foster.
And then almost always, they go to jail;the Salahis are undergoing criminal charges.
What a happy ending to fame.
