Playing by best two sets out of three, no matches were carried out to the third set. Senior Iliana Nguyen, normally the number 1 doubles player, once again played number 2 doubles with Nickie Ding as her partner. The pair was rewarded with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Lynbrook’s number 2 doubles team, which was an improvement on their 6-3, 6-1 win during the match against Los Altos earlier in the week.
Even though scoring easy wins through doubles would take some pressure off of the singles players, it was not necessary this time.
Number 1 singles player sophomore Sylvia Li defeated the Lynbrook number 1 singles player with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory. Number 2 singles player junior Melissa Kobayakawa won her match 6-1, 6-0. And number 3 singles player sophomore Vynnie Kong and number 4 singles player junior Annalisa Choy both won their matches 6-0, 6-1.
Juniors Gizem Gures and Tara Nguyen won their number 1 doubles match against Lynbrook’s pair, finishing their two sets with a score of 6-0 and 6-1. And number 3 doubles pair, sophomores Jackie Lim and Elaine Tang, defeated Lynbrook’s pair 6-3, 6-1.
