Soylent: New smoothie offers an alternative to food

Soylent is the future of food. At least that’s what researchers at Rosa Labs claim about their new product, a tasteless smoothie-like beverage that contains all the nutrients an average adult needs to survive. Many Monta Vista students spend lunch occupied between clubs, academics, or sports and can find it challenging to fit a healthy meal between these various commitments. Soylent’s creators hope that its nutritional content, affordability, and convenience will outweigh the benefits of solid food, and eventually replace food everywhere. In this report, El Estoque meets with Monta Vista students and teachers to put that claim to the test.
