With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, impress your friends and maybe even your crush by trying out any of these five customizable nail designs inspired by the special holiday of love.

Heart french manicure

1. Align the band-aid edge with the smile line, or white part of the nail.
2. Paint on the white polish.
3. Remove the band-aid while the polish is still wet.
4. Dip a toothpick into a polish of your choice.
5. Press it down on one side of your nail to make a circle and then drag down, creating one side of the heart. Do the same on the other side.
6. Seal it in with a top coat.

Gradient heart tips

1. Paint your nails with a light shade of a color of your choice.
2. After it has dried, choose a darker shade of the same color and with the brush, make two curves on either side of your nail and connect them together to form the top of a heart.
3. Repeat with an even darker shade and fill in the rest of the nail.
4. Apply a top coat when it has completely dried.

Heart tape manicure

1. Paint your nails with a color of your choice.
2. Fold a piece of tape in half and cut out half of a heart from the crease.
3. Pull the tape apart to reveal a full heart and apply it onto your nail.
4. Paint over the tape with another color of your choice
5. Remove the tape while the polish is still wet.
6. Seal it in with a top coat after it has completely dried.

LOVE dotticure

1. Paint your nails with a color of your choice.
2. Dip a toothpick into some white polish.
3. Start spelling the letters L O V E on each one of your fingers with dots.
4. Once dry, apply a top coat to give the design a shiny finish.

Ombré

1. Start out by painting your nails white.
2. Protect the skin around your nail with some tape.
3. Paint each of your desired colors onto a makeup sponge and dab it lightly across your nail, moving slightly to blend them together.
4. Re apply the colors on the sponge and dab if necessary.
5. Remove the tape.
6. Apply a top coat to further blend the colors and give it shine.
