Release: Sibling separation

Release: Sibling separation

Students discuss the separation with their older siblings after they graduate.

Co-written by Chelsea Wong

The small queasy feeling at the bottom of your stomach starts to grow as mixed emotions cloud your head. The grad-ready sibling is finally leaving the nest, and you’re not sure how to feel about it. Should you rejoice and celebrate as you start planning out all the things you’re going to obtain or should sadness and loneliness flood in as the corresponding relative you’ve known all your life is leaving for the first time. Everything from long drives in the car to sharing the TV remote, life suddenly without them is quite vacant. Below MVHS students share their feelings about their future-accessible siblings.
